The Croatian People’s Party (HNS) is continuing its party leadership meeting in Sveti Martin na Muri, which started on Saturday. Vesna Pusic, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also joined Sunday’s session of the party Presidency.
Pusic missed the Saturday’s session, which immediately set out speculations that she deliberately boycotted the meeting to express her dissent with the party’s support to the HNS boss, Radimir Cacic, in his decision to keep all the party and Governmental duties even after he was sentenced by the County Court in Kaposvar, Hungary.
Cacic was sentenced for a tragic car accident in which two people died to the suspended sentence of 22 months, with a three year trial period.
However, at today’s party meeting, Pusic stood firmly behind Cacic. ‘Our first goal is to keep the stability of the Government. We can assure everyone that the stability will be preserved. Cacic should remain in the Government. Any other option would be destabilizing. We will discuss all other issues within our party ranks’, Jutarnji list quoted Pusic at the press conference.
