The organisers of this year's gay pride in the coastal city of Split announced a lawsuit on Monday against the City Authorities over their decision to have the closing ceremony held in the city's Square (Prokurative) and not at the waterfront as previously agreed. The organisers said the closing event would be held at the waterfront.

The attempt to change the route represents the violation of constitutional regulations which guarantee freedom of assembly, the organisers said.

They condemned the actions of the City government, saying that it created a negative atmosphere and incited discrimination and violence.
