Ivica Djikic, a journalist and writer from Zagreb, won the fifth tportal literary award for his novel ‘Sanjao sam slonove’ (‘I dreamed of elefants’), published by Naklada Ljevak. The award worth kn 100,000 was given to Djikic on Thursday in the ‘Europa’ movie theater in Zagreb.

Four other writers were in competition for the award – Sibila Petlevski (‘Bilo nam je tako lijepo’/‘It used to be so nice’)),  Luka Bekavac (‘Drenej’), Zoran Feric (‘Kalendar Maja’/’The Mayan Calendar’)) and Goran Fercec (‘Ovdje neće biti čuda’/’There will be no miracles here’)). The tportal jury composed of Ana Grbac (chairperson),  Tomislav Brlek, Gordan Duhacek, Igor Mandic, Katarina Luketic, Miroslav Micanović and Jadranka Pintaric have decided that Djikic's novel is the best one published in Croatia in 2011.
