The procedure against Croatian People's Party (HNS) president Radimir Cacic over a car accident in Hungary has been completed in this country and the case has been referred to the Croatian authorities, a source from the Hungarian police confirmed on Tuesday.

"The case has been referred to the authorities in Croatia," said Karsay Kornel of the Kaposvar police.

He added that the procedure was wrapped up on 15 July and that there was no official information on when had the case been referred to Croatia.

Asked about the conclusions of the investigation, Kornel said no details would be made public until the Croatian authorities carry out a questioning.

On January 8, Cacic caused a car accident in Hungary in which two people were killed.

The Croatian Justice Ministry has not yet received a request from the Hungarian ministry for the referral of the case against Cacic to Croatia's judiciary, spokeswoman for the Croatian ministry Vesna Dovrancic said on Tuesday, adding the public would be notify as soon as the official request arrives.
