Exports grow, imports decline in first 5 moths of 2010

Croatian exports of goods in this year's first five months amounted to HRK 25.56 billion, up 8.6% on the year, the Central Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.

Imports in said period were HRK 42.8 billion, down 8.5% on the year.

The foreign trade deficit was HRK 17.3 billion, down 25.7% from the first five months of 2009.

The export-import ratio was 59.6%.

Expressed in euros, the export of goods in the first five months of 2010 was 3.5 billion, up 10.5% on the year, while imports were 5.89 billion, down 6.8%. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 2.4 billion, down 24.3% on the year.
