Croatia ranks 9th in terms of the rate of growth of its national brand, and China tops the list, the British Brand Finance, a leading global brand valuation consultancy, said in its report "Nation Brands 100".

Although the Croatian national brand's value remains at a rather low level of 30 billion dollars, its value has risen by 21.2 percent in 2011, according to the report.

China, India and Estonia have had the fastest growing national brands, with increases of 40 percent, 31.66 percent and 24.6 percent respectively.

Croatia's national brand has slipped by 16 places to rank 69th out of 100 countries in terms of the value of national brands.

Croatia has moved downward because the latest report includes more countries and combines a wider range of factors to measure a country's national brand value.

"The Brand Finance Nation Brand 100 provides a comprehensive report on the world's leading nation brands and presents an analysis of the impact that a country's reputation and image have on foreign consumers and investors. The report combines a wide range of economic, demographic, and political factors, and is based on in-depth research by Brand Finance's global network of offices," the agency said on its web site.
