In a sermon at a ceremony on the Franciscan islet of Visovac in the Krka river lake, Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic recalled Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Croatia in June this year, condemning what he called insulting remarks about the Pontiff's and his service.

"We know what was said months before the Pope's visit and we hear what is being said these days. We hear various interpretations, ruthless and insulting remarks about the Holy Father and his service which in every civilised country should be condemned. Some are doing it out of ignorance and some out of hate and other dishonourable reasons," Bozanic said among other things.
