The Croatian Homeland Defence War Veterans' Register is available at www.registar-branitelji.hr as of Wednesday and Veterans' Minister Predrag Matic said at a reception given on this occasion that this was the most honorable register in Croatia's history and that the names in the register were inscribed into Croatia's foundations.
The reception was attended by President Ivo Josipovic, Parliament Speaker Josip Leko, Croatian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Drago Lovric, First Deputy Prime Minister Vesna Pusic, Labour Minister Mirando Mrsic, Education Minister Zeljko Jovanovic, and representatives of veterans' associations. On this occasion, Minister Matic, Defence Minister Kotromanovic and Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic talked about their service during the war,
The publication of the Register was enabled by the Croatian parliament which recently amended the law on Croatian war veterans and members of their families by a majority vote.
