The State Attorney's Office has submitted a request to Parliamentary Speaker Luka Bebic to revoke former PM and current MP Ivo Sanader's parliamentary immunity. The arrest warrant is currently labeled as classified
The State Attorney request is currently labeled as classified, which means that the arrest warrant for Sanader will remain top secret until the State Attorney Office of the Republic of Croatia (DORH) makes the content of the warrant public.
The Parliamentary Immunity Committee (MIP) will preside today at 2:30 p.m. to decide on whether to strip Sanader's parliamentary immunity. The MIP meeting was previously arranged for earlier today.
The immunity request was submitted earlier today by DORH directly to the office of Parliament Speaker, Luka Bebic. The same request was sent to the MIP, which is in charge of these cases. Coincidentally or not, a session of the MIP for today was arranged yesterday afternoon.
The charges against Sanader remain a mystery. This is the first instance in Croatian history of a premier being charged.
