The Central Election Commission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIP) on Friday confirmed that everything was ready for general elections set for Sunday, 3 October.
The commission's chairwoman, Irena Hadziabdic, said in Sarajevo on Friday that this body was satisfied with the course of the election campaign.
"There have been no significant breaches of the election law," she said.
The SIP has received a total of 15 complaints regarding the campaign and has ruled ony one measure against a candidate for having prevented a reporter from doing his job.
At 7 am Sunday, a total of 5,276 polling stations will open for elections, with seven of them to be set up in Bosnian embassies and consulates, mainly in Germany and Austria.
The SIP explained that the reason for the small number of polling stations abroad was insufficient interest of Bosnians living abroad as well as the fact that they can vote by mail.
There are 3,126,599 eligible voters who will elect the new make-up of the tripartite state presidency, the House of Representatives of the state parliament as well as the Houses of Representatives in the country's two entities -- the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Serb republic.
The president and the two vice presidents in the Serb entity will also be elected. In the Croat-Bosniak entity, voters will go to the polls to elect deputies to assemblies in the ten cantons in the federation.
The polling stations close at 7 pm.
The SIP is likely to announce preliminary incomplete results about 11 pm Sunday.
About 90 percent of votes should be processed until Monday morning.
A total of 779 activists from various nongovernmental organisations, plus 485 observers from international organisations, will monitor the voting.
As many as 37 political parties, 11 party coalitions and 13 independent candidates are running in the general elections. Thus, a total of 8,242 candidates have been registered for the polls.
