Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has said that his country will not resort to tanks and weapons to defend Kosovo "as if it had wanted to defend Kosovo in that way, it would have used arms when Kosovo declared its independence".
Dacic told the Belgrade-based commercial TV B92 on Sunday evening that he and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic had agreed to change Serbia for the better without calculating whether it might affect their personal rating or the ratings of their respective parties: the Socialist Party and the Serbian Progressive Party.
We are now in a situation either to lose our future by sabre rattling or tackle that issue of Kosovo in the least painful way possible, Dacic said.
