The head of the crime police administration, Vitomir Bijelic, told Croatian Television on Thursday evening that the president of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), Radimir Cacic, was not under investigation, adding however that the police and the State Attorney's Office were carrying out pre-investigative inquiries, given that a statement was made in Croatian parliament on Wednesday concerning a possible crime.
During Question Time in Parliament on Wednesday, Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) deputies criticised Cacic, accusing him of financial wrongdoings concerning his company Coning and the privatisation of the Zelena Punta summer resort on Ugljan island, purchased in 2001 by Cacic's company.
