The commercial TV stations RTL and Nova TV on Sunday evening published the results of an exit poll on today's presidential vote, showing that presidential candidate Ivo Josipovic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has won 32.7 percent of the vote, independent candidate Milan Bandic has won 14.1 percent and presidential candidate Andrija Hebrang of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) 12.1 percent of the vote.

The three presidential candidates are followed by independent candidateNadan Vidosevic with 11.6 percent of the votes, Vesna Pusic of the CroatianPeople's Party (HNS) with 7.5 percent, independent candidate Dragan Primoracwith 5.9 percent, and Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) with 4percent of the vote.

Independent candidate Miroslav Tudjman is eighth with four percent of thevote, followed by independent candidate Josip Jurcevic with 2.6 percent.

Tudjman and Jurcevic are followed by independent candidates Boris Miksic andVesna Skare Ozbolt with 2.1 percent and 1.6 percent of the vote respectively.The candidate of the Democratic Party of the Slavonian Plain, Slavko Vuksic, islast with 0.6 percent of the vote.

The exit poll covered 8,000 Croatian voters, not including the disapora, whosaid who they had voted for after casting their ballots.

The exit poll was conducted by the Ipsos-Puls agency, the TV stationsreported.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.

The State Electoral Commission (DIP) has warned that exit polls do notrepresent official election results and that official results are determinedand published exclusively by DIP.

DIP will publish preliminary election results at midnight.
