The Croatian Party of Rights Dr. Ante Starcevic on Tuesday called on Croatians to go to the polls for the January 22 referendum and vote against the country's EU entry.

Let the government pause a little and give us time to prepare for the European Union, party president Ruza Tomasic said, adding that Croatia was still not ready for entering the bloc.

"A lot of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs have no idea what they need for their businesses once the country joins the Union," Tomasic said.

"We ask for more time for a public debate so that the public could be informed in detail," Ivan Tepes of the HSP told a news conference held outside the Croatian parliament building.
