Croatian President Ivo Josipovic received the visiting Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Zagreb on Saturday.
During cordial talks, Tusk said he was impressed by the reforms Croatia had been implementing in recent years and that he was confident that they would result in the completion of EU accession negotiations this summer, the President's Office said in a statement.
It is necessary to maintain the resoluteness and pace of reform efforts and to continue important initiatives to promote cooperation in Southeast Europe, Tusk said.
Josipovic thanked his guest for the friendship and strong support Croatia was receiving from Poland on its path towards EU membership, and informed him of the significant progress Croatia had made in reforming its justice system and in combating corruption.
The Croatian president and the Polish prime minister also exchanged views on the specific benefits of EU membership, the statement concluded.
