Croatian president receives PM of Brandenburg

On the occasion of the German national holiday - German Unity Day - Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Monday received the Prime Minister of Brandenburg, Matthias Platzeck, who is on an official visit to Croatia, the Croatian President's Office said in a statement.

Josipovic thanked Germany for its support to Croatia in the process of its EU entry talks and for initiatives to promote the two countries' economic cooperation.

Josipovic also thanked Platzeck for a donation the government of Brandenburg made for mine removal in the eastern Croatian county of Vukovar-Srijem and extended his best wishes for German Unity Day.

Platzeck congratulated Josipovic on closing the EU entry talks and expressed hope the two countries' cooperation in the new context would further develop and intensify.

Brandenburg has a lot of experience in the transition process and is very successful in exploiting renewable energy sources and ecological agricultural production, said Platzeck.
