The president of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), Radimir Cacic, said on Wednesday it was not correct that an investigation was requested into him in connection with privatisation wrongdoings.

Answering a question by Andrija Hebrang of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko said in parliament today that based on the constitutional regulation which stipulates that statute of limitation does not apply in the privatisation and ownership transformation process, the privatisation of the Zelena Punta summer resort on Ugljan island, purchased in 2001 by a company owned by Cacic, would be investigated.

"There is only one small detail, which is that this has nothing to do with me or Coning (owned by Cacic), because Coning did not carry out the privatisation of Zelena Punta. The resort was purchased at the stock exchange after the privatisation was completed and after the company declared bankruptcy, Cacic said.
