Bomb squad called in downtown Zagreb car park over suspicious box

Following a tip about a "suspicious item" in a parking garage in downtown Zagreb, police on Friday morning closed off the area for traffic.

A Zagrebparking employee told the press a box was found in the middle of the parking garage that looked suspicious so police were called.

The Zagreb police bomb squad arrived on the scene shortly after 11.30 a.m. and closed off the area, both for vehicles and passengers.

Zagreb police determined that a box which employees of a parking garage in downtown Zagreb found on Friday morning was not a suspicious device, the department said in a statement, adding that the Tuskanac neighbourhood was reopened for traffic.

Following a tip about a "suspicious item" outside the car park, police sent a bomb squad and closed off the area for traffic around 11.30 a.m.
