Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Tomislav Karamarko said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic demonstrated adventurism when he decided to choose Radimir Cacic as the first deputy prime minister while the criminal proceedings were under way against Cacic over a road accident he caused in 2010 in Hungary.

"Premier Milanovic demonstrated his adventurism when he chose the man with such a burden for his First Deputy Prime Minister," Karamarko said today after it was reported that the county court in the Hungarian city of Kaposvar sentenced Cacic to 22 months for the road accident with two fatalities and that the latest ruling was not open to appeal.

The opposition leader accused the cabinet of PM Milanovic for behaving in an adventurist manner regarding serious problems.

We hope that the Premier will find a way out of this situation. I also believe that the latest developments can shake this government and the ruling coalition, Karamarko said.

He expressed hope that Cacic would fulfill his promise that he would left politics in the event of the guilty verdict with imprisonment.
