Croatian Economy Minister Djuro Popijac told Croatian Television on Monday evening that the main topic of the talks at dinner during the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Croatia was increasing the two countries' economic cooperation.
"Transparency and legal security are the foundation of every legal system and some of most important prerequisites for the development of the economic relations and the overall economy. This is equally important for investors and entrepreneurs working in our economy," Popijac said adding that talks were being held with German investors about possible investments in the energy sector, infrastructure, transport and traffic.
Popijac stressed Croatia did not want to be a country with cheap labour and the cheapest jobs.
"Croatia is a quality area for business projects bringing in a high income. Croatia has good and quality labour and it is most definitely suitable for investments that will not be based on cheap labour," Popijac said.
