Kostelic ninth in World Cup Men's Giant Slalom

Croatia's best skier, Ivica Kostelic, finished ninth in the last Men's Giant Slalom in this year's World Cup in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany, on Friday, 1.33 seconds behind winner Carlo Janka of Switzerland.

Davide Simoncelli of Italy was second (+0.31), while Ted Ligety of the US and Philipp Schoerghofer of Austria were a tied for third place (+0.57).

In the World Cup rankings, Kostelic is fifth with 779 points.
