A marathon with participants from Varazdin and its partnership towns in Slovenia and Hungary, two concerts in the centre of the biggest northern Croatian city and many other sports and cultural events are being organised to celebrate Croatia's entry into the European Union on 1 July.
The programme of Croatia's EU entry ceremonies in Varazdin was presented by Deputy Mayor Natalija Martincevic on Monday.
During the marathon, scheduled for 30 June, runners will depart from the start lines in Varazdin and its Slovenian and Hungarian twin towns: Ptuj and Nagykanizsa and have the joint finish line in Varazdin.
In the evening of the same day, two concerts, as a gift from Austria to Croatia on its EU entry, will be held in Korzo Square in Varazdin. One of those concerts is scheduled for midnight between 30 June and 1 July.
Other municipalities and towns in Varazdin County are taking part in two-week events marking Croatia's admission to the European bloc.
