Suspects in the Daimler fraud case Marko Vukovic, Ivan Zabcic and Tomica Godec were released from pre-trial custody on Wednesday after an investigative judge of the Karlovac County Court had heard all eight witnesses, Vukovic's attorney Snjezana Gasic said.

The three suspects were placed in custody last week for fear that they might influence the witnesses. They are suspected of money laundering during the purchase of 210 firefighting trucks from an international consortium led by Daimler. Zabcic and Vukovic are accused of unlawfully acquiring 250,000 euros, and all three are accused of unlawfully acquiring another 1.6 million euros.

Gasic said that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had recommended questioning several witnesses in Germany.
