Serbian President Boris Tadic said in an interview with the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti daily of Friday that there were still many outstanding issues which needed to be resolved in relations between Serbia and Croatia, adding that he expected Croatia's new Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic to work to the benefit of both peoples.

"I expect new Croatian Prime Minister Milanovic, whom I respect and know, to do many more useful things to the benefit of both Croatians and Serbs. I believe we will have an opportunity to hold talks in the coming period to resolve all outstanding issues between our countries," Tadic said in the interview.

Tadic said he and Croatian President Ivo Josipovic had made great and significant steps which had changed the overall credibility of Serbia and Croatia in the world, adding that it would be fair to say that many things had been put into motion with the former Croatian government led by Jadranka Kosor.

"This, however, isn't enough. There are still many outstanding issues that need to be resolved," Tadic said.
