Croatian national team player Ivan Rakitic was the lone scorer in Sevilla’s away win against Valencia in the Spanish La Liga
The Croat scored the game winner on 70 minutes in the 29th game day of the Primera, after pouncing on a rebound from a Negredo attempt on goal. Rakitic took the first-time shot from 10 meters from the goal and blasted the ball into the back of the Valencia goal.
Rakitic was amongst the top-rated Sevilla players at the Mestalla and played the entire 90 minutes.
This is the Croat’s third goal in eight games for Sevilla, whom he joined this winter from German outfit Schalke 04.
After 29 games, Sevilla is in 7th place with 42 points. Sevilla is tied with points with Athletic Bilbao, in sixth place – the last place for a spot leading to continental competition.
