Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Vesna Pusic, said on Thursday that the problem concerning the application of the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) would be resolved in time, and was very optimistic about it, saying that there would be no negative consequences for Croatia in that regard.

The European Commission demands that Croatia revoke the time limit on EAW application or else face sanctions.

The government has announced in a letter to the European Commission that the EAW law will be on the agenda of its session today. Since that did not happen, the press wanted to know when it would be discussed by the government.

"It will be in due course and willingly. We are dealing with this problem in a reasonable way and I am very optimistic. We will resolve this problem and as a result there will be no negative consequences for Croatia," Pusic told the press after the government session. "As things now stand, everything is going in the right direction and we, of course, will let you know you when it's definite," she added.

When asked if her being optimistic meant that she had won Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic over to her side, she said: "This is all I had to say."
