Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) secretary-general Branko Bacic said on Friday that the HDZ had spent slightly less than HRK 15.5 million on the last parliamentary election.
"The total cost for all 11 electoral units is HRK 15.478 million," Bacic told reporters at the party's headquarters, adding that this was below the upper limit of 16.5 million for costs in all 11 constituencies, prescribed by law.
Bacic said that everything was transparent and in compliance with law, that donations were HRK 1.128 million and the rest was covered by a loan from Zagrebacka Banka and the party's own funds.
He said that the financial report on the HDZ election campaign costs was available on the party's website.
