President Ivo Josipovic said on Monday Croatia was handling well the case of arbitration of its border dispute with Slovenia.

He was asked by the press if the Croatian government should have put a second draft memorandum on the dispute to parliament for discussion, as Slovenia has done.

"The government is holding expert and political consultations. There is an expert group working on the matter, so I think we are handling the case well," he said.

Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa put to parliament to decide on a brief on the dispute with Croatia to be submitted to the arbitral tribunal, because he thinks the brief drawn up by domestic and foreign experts should undergo minor changes.

The two countries have to submit their briefs by February 11.
