The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) has condemned the decision of the Zagreb-based Dinamo football club's leadership to bar reporters of the local Index.hr web portal from attending Dinamo matches, training sessions and news conferences.

This nongovernmental, nonprofit network of editors, media executives and journalists from the South Eastern European region finds Dinamo leaders' treatment of media representatives unacceptable.

"Soccer games are public events and all journalists should be given equal rights when reporting," SEEMO Secretary-General Oliver Vujovic said on Saturday.

He called on football clubs to set examples of tolerance and to be open to critics.

Vujovic also urged the City of Zagreb, that owns Dinamo's Maksimir Stadium, and other relevant Croatian institutions to make sure that the ban for Index.hr reporters be lifted.
