The political bloc "Pensioners Together", the Union of Croatian Farmers and coordinators of recent protests organised via the social network Facebook, said on Wednesday that they would hold a major protest rally in Zagreb's central square on Friday.
The rally, to be held under the slogan "The Young and the Old Together", is expected to be attended by some 50,000 disgruntled Croatians from all over the country.
The coordinator of the Pensioners Together bloc, Zlatko Klaric, told reporters that he expected all interested groups to join in the protest - from farmers and fishermen to young people and pensioners.
He called on the central pensioners' association MUH and other pensioners' associations as well as workers' unions to attend the rally.
"There is no Opposition in Croatia, everyone in Parliament is selling themselves for personal gain," Klaric said, adding that he wanted a government that would enable pensioners to live in dignity, young people to have a future, job-seekers to find employment, and fishermen and farmers to live off their work.
