Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic has received a reply from his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini to his letter about interference with Croatian TV programme reception in Croatia, the Croatian foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

Jandrokovic wrote to Frattini on February 8.

In his reply, Frattini said he was briefed about the coordination meetings on the use of radio and television frequencies between the Croatian and Italian bodies in charge and about the technical activities aimed at finding a solution to the existing problems.

Frattini said Italian Economic Development Minister Paolo Romani told him the coordination issue would be prioritised.

Romani's upcoming visit to Zagreb will be used to discuss the finding of appropriate solutions to the interference with Croatian digital TV reception in the northern Croatian peninsula of Istria due to Italy's switch to digital TV in its coastal regions.

In the letter, Frattini voiced confidence that a mutually acceptable solution would be found soon.
