Firefighters still battling blazes near Skradin, Mokosica and Komin

Some 160 firefighters were engaged in efforts to contain a wild-fire near Skradin in the hinterland of Sibenik on Monday morning, the Croatian National Rescue and Protection Directorate (DUZS) reported. Two air tractors were also sent to this fire-hit area.

Also this morning, firefighters were battling against a wild-fire in Mokosica, several kilometres of Dubrovnik.

At Komin-Nura Norinska, another area in Dubrovnik County hit by fire, according to preliminary estimates, the blaze engulfed grass, shrubs and woods in a space large 1,000 hectares. The blaze was brought under control but was not yet put out, with over 130 firefighters trying to extinguish it. In addition, some 100 army members joined them in those efforts and they were supported by fire-fighting planes.
