The final results of the December 4 parliamentary election will be released at the end of this week at the earliest or early next week at the latest, because a participant in the election received only on Monday a decision whereby the State Election Commission (DIP) rejected his complaint about the course of the vote, which gives him today and tomorrow to possibly file a complaint with the Constitutional Court, which then has 48 hours to rule on it.

Those deadlines can take longer if the complaint and the ruling are delivered by post.

The final results may be released on Friday at the earliest or on Monday or Tuesday at the latest, DIP vice president Zdravka Cufar Saric told press.

So far, the Constitutional Court has rejected three complaints which the participants in the election filed about the performance of voter committees and vote-counting after they were first rejected by the DIP.

The election results become final when deadlines for complains expire, after which the DIP delivers them to the president of the republic, who chooses the prime minister designate and calls the inaugural session of the new parliament. The majority which nominates the PM designate must have 76 seats in parliament. The Kukuriku coalition, which won the polls, secured 80 seats.
