Croatian football champions Dinamo Zagreb have been fined EUR 25,000 and ordered to close the east section of their stadium for their next European home game due to racist chanting by supporters at a recent UEFA Champions League qualifier, UEFA reported on Tuesday.

The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body charged the club under the new Article 14 of the Disciplinary Regulations on racism, other discriminatory conduct and propaganda following incidents during Dinamo's 1-0 home win against Luxembourg's CS Fola Esch on 23 July in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.

"The fight against racism is a high priority for UEFA. UEFA has a policy of zero tolerance towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands. All forms of racist behaviour are considered as serious offences against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions," the statement read.

Dinamo take on FC Sheriff in the third qualifying round, with the home fixture scheduled for Tuesday 30 July.
