Paris Saint-Germain stayed on course to reach the Champions League last 16 with a comfortable 2-0 away win on Wednesday evening, at a sparsely-filled Maksimir Stadium.

Goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jeremy Menez made Carlo Ancelotti's side to stay within touching distance of group leaders Porto and extended Dinamo's miserable European run with a ninth consecutive Champions League group stage defeat.

Ibrahimovic missed two chances before scoring in the 33rd minute after receiving a pass from Menez. Menez made it 2-0 shortly before halftime, taking a Javier Pastore pass into his stride before he rifled a low drive between the legs of Ivan Kelava.

Ibrahimovic had another great chance in the 64th minute after Javier Pastore had dribbled through the defense, but the Sweden striker's lob narrowly missed the target.

PSG would have been three ahead at the break were it not for a fine Kelava save from an Ibrahimovic free-kick, while after that the sides generated a flurry of chances, with Menez, Marcelo Brozovic, Jorge Sammir and Javier Pastore all whistling efforts either over or wide.

Not content with his goal Ibrahimovic piled on for more, going close with a 10m hit, while Kelava again excelled as he denied Pastore, with Thiago Silva then having a shot deflected away by Brozovic as the visitors finished as they had started.

"Yet again we lost 2-0. Today, we had some chances but we made some stupid mistakes and conceded two goals," Dinamo Zagreb defender Domagoj Vida said. "PSG showed its class and used its opportunities."

Victory in Zagreb moved PSG into sole possession of second place on six points, three adrift of Porto with Dynamo Kiev third on three points and Dinamo propping up the standings, having yet to open their account.
